Stockport Council voted against GMSF
Stockport Council voted against GMSF in a full council meeting on 3rd December. Councillors were asked to vote on whether they approved the latest draft of the joint plan, GMSF 2020, to proceed to the next stages in the process: public consultation and then Examination. Stockport Council will now go it alone to prepare a Stockport Local Plan. Following that decision, the remaining 9 authorities in Greater Manchester voted to proceed with preparation of a joint plan for the 9 authorities at AGMA and GMCA meetings. If approved and adopted, the joint plan will then be followed by local plans for each individual authority. Webcasts of the meetings can be viewed on these links:
