A new draft Stockport Local Plan had been prepared and was due to go for public consultation for feedback in September/October and then through the various stages required before adoption in 2025. It proposed new development on previously developed sites and did not propose to change Green Belt boundaries. However, the consultation has been postponed because the new Government is consulting on changes to the National Planning Policy Framework and possible changes to housing targets.
